Me. Elie Bou Ghosn is a senior associate at Walid Merhej Law Firm with more than ten years of experience advising and representing clients and companies in Lebanon. His practice spans civil and commercial litigation, corporate and commercial matters, real estate and landlord–tenant disputes, and contractual work. Elie is regularly instructed in complex disputes involving fraud, forgery, real estate transactions, trademark misuse and labour claims, and is known for his pragmatic, result-oriented approach.
In addition to his courtroom practice, Elie frequently drafts and negotiates real estate contracts, lease agreements and a wide range of civil and commercial instruments, and acts as a mediator to help parties reach effective and enforceable settlements.
Experience Highlights
- Acting as mediator in civil and commercial disputes, negotiating settlements and following up on the execution of court judgments and settlement agreements
- Representing clients before Lebanese courts in civil and penal matters and providing representation in arbitration and mediation proceedings
- Advising clients on their legal rights and matters related to commercial, corporate and civil law, and developing defence strategies based on prior cases and legal precedents
- Drafting pleadings, notices and legal submissions and identifying ethical and legally sound solutions to complex issues
- Preparing and reviewing legal documents related to wills, contracts, deeds, trusts, lawsuits and real estate transactions
- Advising companies on Lebanese labour law requirements and assisting in disputes before the labour courts, including claims for end of service indemnities
- Performing case research, gathering evidence and interpreting applicable laws and regulations for individuals and corporate clients, ensuring that all necessary approvals and formalities are completed before documents are executed
- Representing clients in criminal complaints arising from traffic accidents, including following up at gendarmerie stations, seeking impoundment of vehicles, prosecuting complaints and appearing before the criminal courts
